Seasonal Flu

The children's flu vaccine is offered as a yearly nasal spray to children to help protect them against flu.

Diphtheria, Tetanus & Polio (Td/IPV), Meningococcal ACWY

The Td/IPV is given as a single jab containing vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus and polio. MenACWY vaccine is also given as a single jab containing vaccines against meningitis A, C, W and Y.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

HPV vaccine is offered to all boys and girls from year 8. HPV Vaccine protects against cervical cancer, some mouth and throat cancers and some cancers of the anus and genital areas.

Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) and Measles, Mumps, Rubella & Varicella (MMRV)

MMR is a safe and effective combined vaccine that protects children against three serious illnesses - measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) in a single injection. Children born on or after 1 January 2020 will, instead of MMR, be offered MMRV, which provides the same protection as MMR, and is just as safe and effective, with the addition of protection against chickenpox (varicella). To be fully protected, both MMR and MMRV require a course of two doses.
